Heechan Kim is an object maker. He applies traditional craft techniques in new contexts to reimagine and explore outcomes, and challenge craft’s visual potential. Kim has been investigating the relationship between the maker's hand and materials. Woven stool series were developed when he was participating Museum of Art and Design residency in 2022. He is currently a resident at Monira residency in Jersey City. He is a faculty member of Parsons School of Design, the City College of New York, teaching product design and sculpture. He received a MFA in woodworking and furniture design from Rochester Institute of Technology, a BFA in metal arts and jewelry from Seoul National University.
Once A4 has received payment in full, the buyer shall be responsible for retrieving their artwork (shipping or pick-up) or scheduling their experience following the close of the Auction on October 16, 2023. Shipping, handling, and insurance charges are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
All pieces are located within the New York City area, and further details of retrieval can be found in the individual lot description. Any lots that require special arrangements will be communicated directly by A4 within 48 hours of the sale close.
