Artist: Firoz Mahmud
Being born in Bangladesh, artist Firoz Mahmud lives and works in Tokyo and New York. He was an artist fellow graduate from the Rijksakademie Van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam, did research from Tokyo University of the Arts (Geidai), MFA from Tama Art University and a BFA from Dhaka University. Mahmud’s work has been exhibited at the following biennales: Bangkok Art Biennale, Lahore Biennial, Dhaka Art Summit, Setouchi Triennale (BDP), Aichi Triennial, Sharjah Biennale, Congo Biennale, Immigrant Artist Biennale (TIAB), Cairo Biennale, Echigo-Tsumari Triennial, Asian Biennale, Busan Biennale, Geumgang Nature Art Biennale(korea).
Mahmud has also exhibited at the Office of Contemporary Art (OCA), Norway, MAXXI Museum of 21st Century Arts Rome, India, Sharjah Art Museum, Aichi Pref.Museum of the Arts, Bangladesh and Pakistan Contemporary Art at Asia House London, Hiroshima Museum of Contemporary Art, University Art Museum, Metropolitan Art Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo & Geidai PS1, Fuchu Art Museum, Mori Art Museum (CG) Tokyo; Metropolitan Mostings Hus Copenhagen, Sovereign Art Foundation HK, Children Museum and Hammond Museum, United Headquarters in New York, NIU Museum in Chicago, 12 Gates Arts and Asian Art Initiative in Philadelphia, Ota Fine Arts, Exhibit320 in Delhi, Dhaka Art Center, National Museum and Bengal Gallery in Dhaka.
He was nominated for COAL Prize, recipient of a prize from Hiroshima MoCA (API-OTP) and awardee of Asian Cultural Council fellowship. He did artist residency programs at ISCP, LMCC, Mass MoCA and OZU Rome. He is represented by Exhibit 320 in New Delhi and Ota Fine Arts in Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai.
Mahmud’s artistic practice is realized through various mediums such as painting, drawing, installation and image based that engage with his cultural and political heritage, legacies and current global affairs.

Once A4 has received payment in full, the buyer shall be responsible for retrieving their artwork (shipping or pick-up) or scheduling their experience following the close of the Auction on October 16, 2023. Shipping, handling, and insurance charges are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
