Basilica Guanajuato MX By Bill Page
Artwork Details:
This is from my sketches inside the Basilica de Guanajuato built in the early 1600's in the columbian town Guanajuato, MX. It is a mountainous town 5 hours North of Mexico City where time seems to have stopped 200 years ago; cobble stone streets, no cross walks, homes built up the sides of the mountains painted in many different colors produce a mosaic of colors. Traffic is routed inside the mountains that circles the town. The overhead sun creates a dazzling play of light and shadows, colors and shapes reflected off the Baroque style architecture. NO Frame Needed.
