• Lot Description
  A one of a kind jacket pieced with silk fabric from a variety of vintage Japanese kimonos. The white and cream silks have a variety of weaves, from waves and streams to flowers and grass. Each turquoise, green, red and navy square is a separate piece of fabric. 6 glass buttons line the front. The jacket is fully lined with silk charmeuse.

  A classic straight sided shape, I call this style 'Chanel'. 

  The garment measures 39 inches bust, 42 inches hips, length at center back 23 inches. Size petite. [Approximate industry size 6-8.] 

  All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. Fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. These very special fabrics were woven, stenciled, tie-dyed and painted by Japanese artisans. Many were still in the bolt on their way to become kimonos. Others had been sewn into kimonos but were no longer wearable. I remove the hand stitching, wash and prepare the fabrics for their new life. Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind.
