• Lot Description
  A one of a kind jacket sewn from a magenta colored Japanese kimono silk woven with a design of bamboo leaves. Subtle silver fibers add a little sparkle. I've added various magenta, red and deep aubergine colored beads to high light the design. Fully lined with a silk charmeuse. The front closes with 6 buttons. A classic straight sided shape, I call this style 'Chanel'.

  Garment measures 44 inches bust, 46 inches hips, length at center back 22 inches. [Approximate industry size 14-16.]

  All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. Fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. These very special fabrics were woven, stenciled, tie-dyed and painted by Japanese artisans. Many were still in the bolt on their way to become kimonos. Others had been sewn into kimonos but were no longer wearable. I remove the hand stitching, wash and prepare the fabrics for their new life. Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind. I ship USPS priority at the beginning of the week.
