A one of a kind fitted jacket and full skirt. The skirt is pieced from various vintage 'meisen,' kimono silks. 'Meisen' is a kind of ikat. The fabric is loosely woven, printed with the design, then unwoven and then rewoven so that the images have a blurred edge. Even small pieces of these remarkable fabrics are too beautiful to throw away. I've saved my scraps and sewn them together into this skirt. The matching jacket is sewn from the same meisen square dot and stripe fabrics used in the skirt. The jacket and skirt are both is fully lined. 5 vintage glass buttons line the jacket front. The skirt has a zipper and hook closure for dressing ease. The waistband has elastic for comfort.
The jacket measures 39 inches bust, 36 inch waist and 42 inches hips. The length at center back is 22 inches. Size small [Approximate industry size 10-12.]
The skirt's elasticized waist measured between 26 and 34 inches. The length measured from the top of the waistband to the hem is 30 inches.

All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. Fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. These very special fabrics were woven, stenciled, tie-dyed and painted by Japanese artisans. Many were still in the bolt on their way to become kimonos. Others had been sewn into kimonos but were no longer wearable. I remove the hand stitching, wash and prepare the fabrics for their new life. Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind. I ship USPS priority at the beginning of the week.
