Concert posters featuring Motown acts from the 1960s like these are exceedingly rare! Three framed vintage window cards printed on cardstock for performances by musical legends Wilson Picket, Martha and the Vandellas, and Percy Sledge. The Wilson Picket poster was a St. Patrick's Day performance at the State Fairground Exhibition Hall, hence the green and white color palette enhancing the text and surrounding two black and white photos of the legendary performer. The Martha and the Vandellas poster includes a lovely photo of the trio and text noting the particulars of the Baja Ballroom (14th and Stout in Denver, Colorado) against a colorful background of pink, yellow, and blue. The Percy Sledge poster advertises for his Baja Ballroom show in red and white with tantalizing fonts. Size of one in frame (all are the same size and all fit fully within their frames): 22.5" L x 14.2" W (57.2 cm x 36.1 cm)
For those of you who are not familiar with these legendary performers, here are a few of their greatest hits. Wilson Picket is best known for bringing down the house with "In the Midnight Hour" and "Mustang Sally" - Percy Sledge recorded "When a Man Loves a Woman" and "A Whiter Shade of Pale" - and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas gave us "Heat Wave" and "Dancing in the Streets"!
