**Originally Listed At $500**
Northern Europe, Great Britain, Wales, Ceredigion or Pembrokeshire County, ca. February 15th, 1755 CE. A remarkable vellum legal document exhibiting 29 lines of English script, handwritten in black ink, and detailing an agreement of a land purchase by Erasmus Saunders and Thomas Lowes from John Morgan. The document states that Erasmus Saunders and Thomas Lowes must pay a sum of money, which appears to be 5 shillings, to John Morgan for his land, some of it being in the Parish of Saint Dogelles in the County of Pembrokeshire. The bottom of the page is folded upwards and bears the signature, initials, and wax seal of John Morgan. The first 2 words, as well as 22 others scattered throughout the document, are enlarged in order to highlight importance. Other figures of note who are mentioned in the document are William Lloyd, William Rowland, and David Matthias. The stamp of a crown, likely a symbol of King George II, can be seen in the lower left corner. Note the zigzagged border along the top of the document - indenture documents were written in duplicate on the same sheet of vellum and separated by cutting along a jagged (or toothed, hence the term "indenture") line so that the 2 pieces could later be reunited to confirm authenticity, with each party of the agreement retaining a part. Size of document: 24.5" W x 16.5" H (62.2 cm x 41.9 cm); Size of frame: 31.75" W x 22.75" H (80.6 cm x 57.8 cm)
