Ancient Seas, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 1.5 million years ago. A fabulous pair of brown and gray shark tooth earrings of a wearable form. Based on the size and coloration, these teeth are perhaps from an ancient relative of the modern great white shark. The obverse of each tooth has been highly polished to exhibit a reflective luster, and the tops are fitted with modern 14K gold-plated sterling silver ear wires that gracefully complement the natural hues of the enamel and roots. Size of each (both are relatively similar): 1.5" L x 0.875" W (3.8 cm x 2.2 cm); metal quality: 14K gold-plated sterling silver

Condition
Wearable as shown and constructed in modern times. Shark teeth are ancient, and 14K gold-plated sterling silver wire components are modern. Shark teeth have several stable hairline fissures to enamel commensurate with age and fossilization, otherwise intact and very good. Nice polished luster throughout.
