Vernon Howe Bailey studied art at the Pennsylvania Museum School and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He began his career working as an artist for the Philadelphia Times and the Boston Herald. Next he spent several years in Europe living and working prior to being hired by the US Government to create wartime illustrations at Navy yards, ammunition factories, etc. In addition to his Navy illustrations, his architectural drawings were very popular.
Vernon Howe Bailey's drawings are generally listed for more than twice this reserve at venues such as the Old Print Shop (http://oldprintshop.com/shop?artist=3685).
