"The Return of Jack Slade- Filmed in Superscope - An Allied Artists Picture starring John Ericson, Mari Blanchard, and Neville Brand" - 1955. Number 55/443. ALSO "Macdonald Carey - Audrey Totter in Man or Gun - in Naturama" - Republic Pictures - 1958. Number 38/242. Two fabulous original lithographic movie posters for that beloved old genre - the American Western. "The Return of Jack Slade" poster features a note about a famous American song in the lower left corner, "Hear the Greatest Frontier Song of Our Time! 'The Yellow Rose of Texas'" surrounded by music staffs above and below - and of course there is the undeniably bold graphic featuring the stars brandishing pistols beside the title in yellow and the dramatic exchanges - both combative and romantic - in the banner above. Size: 40.25" L x 27" W (102.2 cm x 68.6 cm)
"Man or Gun" is equally exciting for its bold graphic of the large cowboy in profile depicted at the left foreground and shooting his opponent off a cliff as a young blonde love interest, donning a low-cut red blouse, a fringed skirt, and cowboy boots, with a gun in her holster, runs to him. Above in bold white block letters, "A TOUGH FRONTIER KILLER SETS A MURDEROUS MANTRAP -- But Instead Catches The Girl He Loves!"
