North America, United States, New England - "Map of the Railroads of Connecticut to accompany the report of th Railroad Commissioners" - Prepared by Samuel D. Tilden, Hartford, Connecticut, 1879 AND "Connecticut" by George W. Boynton and published by S.G. Goodrich, ca. 1839. A remarkable pair of maps of Connecticut, both showing additional areas of New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The larger of the 2 presents the state of Connecticut in green and displays the railroad lines as well as cities and towns throughout. It was designed by S.D. Tilden and published by the Connecticut Railroad Commissioners. Alternatively, the smaller map of Connecticut was engraved by George W. Boynton and published by S.G. Goodrich. Condition
Larger has some tears and losses to peripheries, especially on right side, as well as light fold lines. Smaller has some tearing and losses to bottom periphery with a few light stains throughout, but design is still clear. Otherwise, both are excellent with nice remaining details.
