Two antique chromolithograph wall plates for Anton Hartinger's "Wall Plates for the Education in Natural History" - one depicting a seal and sea lion, the other depicting a male and female deer. Carl Gerold's Sohn published Hartinger's "Wall Plates for the Education in Natural History" - a series of 124 botanical and zoological chromolithographs between 1880 and 1920. A wonderful pair of 19th century wall plates, ideal for any animal lover! Condition
Deer chromolithograph has minute crease marks to peripheries and an area of waviness to the left margin that does not impact the image. Seal/Sea Lion has a couple of minute tears and minor crease marks to peripheries that do not impact the imagery. Seal/Sea Lion is signed in the plate.
