Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima and Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A fine ensemble of 3 hand-built pottery figures, 2 Colima and 1 Jalisco, each holding a petite child in their arms. The Jalisco mother bears a bichrome red on cream color scheme as the mother wears an intricate hat as she holds her young one atop her left knee. The first Colima figure is perhaps a father given the lack of breasts and finery typically shown on female figures, however the true gender is unknown. The largest Colima mother is shown holding her rambunctious child atop her right leg as she dons a tiered headdress with incised decorations. Size: 2.7" W x 3.75" H (6.9 cm x 9.5 cm)
