Thelma Weresh (American, 1919-2016). "Man" bronze, n.d. Edition 1 of 6, signed & numbered on right foot. "Woman" bronze, n.d. Edition 1 of 6, signed & numbered on back hemline. An extraordinary pair of bronze sculptures by Thelma Weresh, co-founder of the Loveland Invitational Sculpture Show. "Man" stands with outspread legs and upraised arms bent at the elbows with hands meeting above his head. Donning a hooded long garment that hugs her body and resolves in a billowing hemline, "Woman" holds both hands to her face as if expressing surprise or grief. Both figures are rendered in an abstract, minimalist style as opposed to Weresh's more typical realistic approach. While Weresh infused "Man" with dramatic geometry and angularity, she opted for curvaceous fluid volumes to render "Woman". Both are in-the-round and their forms invite the eye to view them from all angles. Both are mounted on custom wood rotating stands fit with brass plates engraved with the titles and the sculptor's name. Size (Man): 31" H (78.7 cm); 33.25" H (84.5 cm) on included custom stand. Size (Woman): 27.75" H (70.5 cm): 29.75" H (75.6 cm) on included custom stand.

"Man" is signed and numbered "1/6" on the right proper foot. "Woman" is signed and numbered on the back hemline of her garment. Both are mounted on custom wood rotating stands fit with brass plates engraved with the titles and the sculptor's name. Both present with stunning patinas of mottled green and brown hues. A horizontal line across the back of "Man" appears to be a casting flaw. Slight abrasion on buttocks of "Woman". Otherwise, both are excellent.
