Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sukhothai Kingdom, ca. 1238 to 1438 CE. An attractive pottery vessel presenting a circular foot and impressively thin walls that spread outwards to an annular rim, fit snugly with a hemispherical lid. Coated in lustrous, beige glaze, the ancient vessel is adorned with a series of incised bands near its foot. A pointed and tiered handle, reminiscent of a Thai pagoda, caps the lid and is surrounded by 2 additional tiers and a starburst motif. The vessel delightfully slopes to one side, adding unique charm to this elegant example! Size: 5.125" in diameter x 7.5" H (13 cm x 19 cm)
