Southeast Asia, Thailand, Ayutthaya Kingdom, ca. 14th century CE. An attractive, hand-built pottery jar displaying a round yet stable base, a wide hip, a slanted shoulder, a narrow neck, and a flared and lipped rim. The redware vessel has been beautifully stamped with a decorative program consisting of several horizontal registers of diagonal, vertical, and pointed striations. Size: 8.5" in diameter x 5.5" H (21.6 cm x 14 cm)
This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.

TL holes to base and under rim. Chipping to rim. Expected nicks, abrasions, and softening of detail, all commensurate with age. Otherwise, very nice.
