Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero or Puebla region, Teotihuacan culture, ca. 100 BCE to 300 CE. A finely schematized standing female figure that is hand-carved from mottled sage green schistic serpentine with dark green, faint cream, and citrine inclusions. The figure stands atop a pair of attenuated feet that peek out beneath a rectangular skirt and holds both arms close to the waist. The semicircular face exhibits a pair of horizontal, string-cut eyes, a triangular nose, thin lips, and cheeks rounded along the mandible, all beneath a wide-brimmed hat that rests low along the forehead. Size: 2.1" W x 5.1" H (5.3 cm x 13 cm); 5.5" H (14 cm) on included custom stand.

Minor abrasions and very light encrustations across obverse and verso, otherwise intact and excellent. Nice preservation to facial details and nice mineral deposits throughout.
