Ancient Seas, Oligocene Period, ca. 33 to 22 million years ago. Comprised of a fossilized shark tooth set in tasteful sterling silver pendant cap as a pendant - this is an amazing piece of jewelry for all fossil and shark lovers! The tooth has a pearly white enamel, a natural result of the chemicals and minerals present in the water and sediment as the tooth rested at the bottom of the ocean for millennia! It is likely that this tooth belonged to a prehistoric mega-toothed species of white shark. The root is set into an artistic silver cap - the lower edges decorated with a looped wire, and granulated spheres and spirals on the top with applied leaf shapes around a loop bail. The pendant is wearable and strung on a cord with a lobster clasp as a ready to wear statement piece - this pendant will not need to "fish for compliments!" Size (pendant): 2.75" L x 2" W (7 cm x 5.1 cm); (cord): 21" L (53.3 cm); silver quality: 93.3%; total weight: 35.8 grams

Condition
Slight indentations to the silver pendant cap and areas of patina and toning. Loss to the enamel and root corner on the right side, this does not affect the pendant cap and is mostly indiscernible from the front. Lovely pearly white enamel and striations from fossilization. Wearable and strung on a modern cord!
