A wonderful painting by Denver artist Fran Schroeder depicting a gardener tending to beautiful floral planters and garden beds adorning the exterior of a stately building, likely rendered in a Neoclassical style given the large white column in the composition. Schroeder is an impressive colorist and a skilled plein air painter. Her favorite themes include historic buildings, landscapes, waterscapes with boats and lighthouses, and mountain scenes. Fran Schroeder studied art at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Florida and has taught art at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Colorado Mountain College, and the Ringling School of Art and Design. She is a member of the Art Student's League of Denver, Front Range Watercolor Artists, Park Hill Art Club, and plein air artists groups The Colorists and Friday Painters. Condition
Painting is in excellent condition. Signed on lower right. A few scuffs/nicks to the frame. Otherwise, frame is very nice and fitted with a suspension wire for display. The artist's card and signature label are attached on the verso.
