Lynn Rowan Myers (American, 1933-2008). "Orange Pears" oil on canvas, 20th century. Signed by the artist on the lower left. A striking still life painting by Lynn Rowan Myers, an American artist who was an impressive colorist and was influenced by her native California's plein air artists, the French Fauvist painters, and the brilliant landscape of the Southwest. "Orange Pears" captures the tenets of Fauvism by employing bold coloration rather than realistic values. Instead, these luscious pears are embellished with the warm hues of the Southwest that Myers adored. Myers once declared, "The New Mexico landscape is constantly changing and has intense colors and hypnotic shapes. Nothing else has the same kick!" A vibrant painting set in an attractive black frame. Size of painting: 9" L x 12" W (22.9 cm x 30.5 cm) Size of frame: 14" L x 17" W (35.6 cm x 43.2 cm)
