Andy Katz (American, Contemporary ). Untitled color photograph of the Taj Majal, 20th century. Pencil signed on the lower right. A beautiful photograph of the Taj Mahal by Andy Katz. Katz has traveled across the globe, photographing a wide range of subjects throughout his journeys - "from the deserts of Namibia to the disappearing Jewish World of Eastern Europe to the rolling hills of the California wine country" - and India has proven to be a most intriguing muse for Katz. In his words, "As difficult as it can be in such a vast country, I have been lucky to get to know much of India. To say that I have fallen in love with it is an understatement; I take it with me wherever I go — its colors, its flavors, its remarkable personality and personalities." Andy Katz is a Sony Artisan of imagery - one of the original seven photographers who represent Sony's cameras. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the world as well as his own gallery in Healdsburg, California. In addition, Katz's work has been published in several books and featured on album covers for artists like Dan Fogelberg.
