Edward Joseph Finley Timmons (1882-1960). Oil on canvas, ca. 1940s. Signed on lower left. A delightful landscape painting by American artist Edward Timmons. Timmons presents a sweeping view of this picturesque locale, with a vast grassy meadow lined with verdant groves of trees, all beneath breathtaking azure skies with billowing white clouds. Look closely and you will also see a tiny staffage figure on the lower right as well as a quaint cottage at the center. Furthermore, Timmons graciously invites the viewer to meander through the countryside by following a walking path that meanders through the composition. A charming painting set in a finely carved, gold-tone frame of the period. Size of painting: 18.125" L x 24.25" W (46 cm x 61.6 cm) Size of frame: 21.5" L x 27.5" W (54.6 cm x 69.8 cm)
