Classical World, Eastern Mediterranean, Phoenician, ca. mid 1st century BCE; Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A beautiful and wearable necklace as well as a pair of earrings constructed with hand-carved stone beads and delicate glass beads in a plethora of vibrant colors. The necklace is formed with beads in spherical, lozenge, faceted, and seed-like shapes that create a dazzling presentation. Some of the glass beads exhibit feathered patterns or mosaic/millefiori designs that have multiple colors, and many stone beads exhibit integral veining within their matrices. Included is a pair of slender earrings, each with two rectangular glass beads of beige hues above and below a petite green glass spacer bead. Size (necklace): 15.25" L (38.7 cm); (center stone): 0.8" W x 0.8" H (2 cm x 2 cm); (each earring): 2.625" H (6.7 cm)
