Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st century CE. A beautiful free-blown flask comprised of translucent, cobalt-blue glass with a flat base and smooth pontil scar, a spherical body with a rounded shoulder, a narrow cylindrical neck, and a flared rim with an in-folded lip. The body exhibits a thread-like trail of opaque white glass which courses upwards and stops just beneath the neck and adds a bright touch to the dark-hued vessel. Faint areas of silver and rainbow iridescence coat the exterior of the body, and miniscule areas of golden iridescence are visible along the neck and upper shoulder. Size: 1.875" W x 2.875" H (4.8 cm x 7.3 cm).
