Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A lovely glass cup of lemon yellow hues, boasting marvelous translucency. The form is simple yet elegant with gently curved walls, a flared lip, and infolded rim, all upon a slightly concave base. A beautiful example. Size: 3.125" in diameter x 3.25" H (7.9 cm x 8.3 cm)

Chips to rim as shown. Scattered earthen deposits. Some internal bubbles to the glass that occurred when the glass was blown. Collection label on underside of base. Seems to not have a pontil mark. Pontil mark on underside of base. A pontil scar or mark indicates that a vessel was free-blown, while the absence of such a mark suggests that the work was either mold-blown or that the mark was intentionally smoothed away or wore away over time.
