Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A very rare type, this young muscular fellow stands while holding a handled vessel in his right hand. He is bare chested with wonderfully delineated pectorals and wears a short tunic with billowing drapery folds, tied at the waist, and sandals. He looks outward and dons a leafy wreath upon his wavy coiffure. An outstanding piece with a gorgeous green patina. Size: 2.25" W x 4.2" H (5.7 cm x 10.7 cm); 5.3" H (13.5 cm) on included custom stand.
