South America, Argentina, Patagonia, ca. millions of years old. A rare natural pink amethyst slab that is cut and polished as a magnificent display piece! This geologic creation has a rich rose and pale pink tones, and almost an ombre coloring with deeper lilac colors around the edges with some creamy beige striations throughout. The face is polished but contains cavities and fissures to show off the crystalline structures within the matrix. Not to be confused with rose quartz - since quartz does not form these pointed structures - pink amethyst is much rarer than the deep purple amethyst we usually see! Pink occurs when hematite (iron oxide) is present in the crystalline formation. Only recently was this variety of amethyst was discovered in Patagonia! This softer hue is often associated with calmness and understanding energies. Size: 15.25" L x 2.5" W x 24" H (38.7 cm x 6.4 cm x 61 cm); 27" H (68.6 cm) on included custom stand.
