Pre-Columbian, southern Mexico, Guerrero region, Huastec culture, San Jeronimo type, ca. 200 to 500 CE. A hand-built pottery female figure standing atop tapered legs with nubbin feet. She wears a short skirt with an impressed zigzagging pattern as she holds both hands beneath her breasts, with stippling surrounding her navel, and a trio of necklaces stacked atop her clavicle. Her enlarged head bears crescent-shaped eyes with delineated pupils beneath thin brows, protruding lips that reveal a row of impressed teeth, annular ear spools, and a tall cap. Condition
Restoration to majority of proper right arm, with resurfacing, overpainting, and earthen deposits along new material and break lines. Abrasions and nicks to limbs, body, and head, with softening to some finer details, and ample encrustations. Nice preservation to figural form and most finer details on face.
