Egypt, Ptolemaic Period, ca. 332 to 30 BCE. A hand-built 22K gold ring of wearable form with a circular face incised with a stylized pyramid surrounded by radiating lines and petite dots. The triangular pyramid features dark deposits within some of the incised striations that accentuate the overall presentation, and beneath the face is a curved rod-form shank that would fit comfortably on one's finger. Covered in lustrous patina, this is a rare example of late Egyptian artistry!
