Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Sanders, Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi), ca. 1050 to 1225 CE. A beautiful Puerco black-on-white hand-built pottery bowl. The piece rests on a rounded but stable base, the hemispherical walls swelling slightly outward and up to a thick rim. The interior is painted with an ivory white slip then a steady hand painted a design in black- consisting of a thick line to create 4 interlocking spiraling triangular shapes that connect in the center to create a rectangular frame in the center tondo. Size: 7.125" Diameter x 3" H (18.1 cm x 7.6 cm)

Intact with only 2 hair line fissures radiating from the rim. Some chipping and fading to pigments, but overall excellent with well-defined motifs. Old inventory number on the base surface.
