Hans Busch (American/Ohio, 1880-1954). Two framed watercolor paintings, ca. 1930s. A lovely pair of signed watercolor paintings by early 20th century American artist Hans Busch, both depicting elegant ladies of Asian descent relaxing on a pleasant spring or summer day. One painting features a young lady dressed in white with her hair pulled back, reading a book below a tree on a riverbank with blooming flowers and grasses before her and a picturesque hilly landscape behind her that is graced by a waterfall and verdant trees. Joining this piece is a painting of a woman sitting on a blue bench beneath a leafy tree in a beautiful garden with blossoming flowers before her as well as a tranquil lake and pagoda edifice beyond. Both paintings are set behind glass in matching custom bamboo style wooden frames embellished with gold and vermilion hues. Size of larger painting: 16" L x 10" W (40.6 cm x 25.4 cm) Size of frame: 22.875" L x 16.875" W (58.1 cm x 42.9 cm)

Condition
Paintings have not been examined outside the frames, but appear to be in very nice condition. Both are signed and set in matching frames. Minor wear to framing finishes, but otherwise the frames are in very good condition and wired to display.
