The Titan goddess of the moon, Selene was oftentimes depicted driving a chariot drawn by a pair of winged horses to carry the moon across the skies each night. Sometimes she was said to drive a team of oxen, and her lunar crescent was thought to represent a pair of bull's horns. According to Greek mythology, Selene was the daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Theia. The Titan goddess of the moon had two siblings, Helios (Titan god of the Sun) and Eos (Titan goddess of the Dawn).
