Western Europe, Neoclassical, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. This is a fabulous 54.72% (equivalent to 13K+) rose gold and sard stone cameo of a Roman soldier. The man's bust is in profile, facing to the left and part of his shoulder plates and chest armor are visible. His hair cascades to his shoulders under a plumed helmet, and his facial hair consists of a mustache under a straight, Grecian nose. The cameo profile is carved in high relief with undercut peripheries and is set in a rose gold bezel that is supported by a flattened band which is wearable.
