A fine agate intaglio set in an electrum setting, depicting Nike/Victory, striding to the left in profile. She holds a holding a spear in one hand, with a trumpet held up to her mouth, a quiver of arrows over her shoulder, and a burning torch planted before her. This intaglio is a gorgeous piece from the ancient Roman Empire, that was set into an electrum bezel in the 19th century. The form-fitting bezel is supported by a split shoulder shank and this ring is wearable. Electrum bezel around the intaglio has a visible fissure, but this does not affect intaglio, and intaglio is secured. Dark toning and patina on the shoulders of split shank and bezel. Ring is wearable.
