Pre-Columbian, Southern Peru, Nazca, ca. 100 BCE to 400 CE. A wonderful pottery kero presenting a corseted body and tall, flared neck that leads to a broad rim, all sitting upon a round yet stable base. Boasting hues of orange, maroon, black, and white, the exterior of the vessel is elaborately adorned with rows of steppe motifs and circular patterns, while the bottom area is enveloped in a lustrous black glaze. Alternatively, the interior features a coat of light orange pigment. Size: 5.3" Diameter x 4.6" H (13.5 cm x 11.7 cm)
This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report is available for $50 to the buyer. Please contact us to request.

Condition
About one-quarter of neck is professionally restored from new material. Expected nicks with some minor areas of chipping to glaze. Otherwise, excellent with impressive pigments. TL holes to base and exterior of rim.
