Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi), Mogollon, Four-Mile type, ca. 1325 to 1400 CE. A stunning pottery bowl of hemispherical form with an ovoid rim that gently curves inward above a deep interior basin, all sitting upon a rounded base. Black and white pigments adorn the red terracotta surface, displaying an abstract design resembling parts of a frog or tadpole inside an egg on the interior, while a horizontal band of interlocking steppe motifs embellishes the exterior.
