**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, north coast of Peru, Moche, Phase IV, 450 to 600 CE. A striking mold-made bi-chrome pottery stirrup vessel depicting the harrowing crucifixion of a man with a murder of crows circling below. The traditional interchange of a red and cream duotone dominates the overall appearance of the vessel, minimally decorated with three menacing crows underneath a sculpted, three-dimensional rendition of a crucifixion. The crucifixion scene is highly detailed with the man’s mouth ajar as if screaming as a crow picks at his right eye. A stirrup spout sprouts from the vessels neck to its lower back. This is truly a one-of-a-kind example that guarantees a reaction. Size: 4.5" L x 8.5" W x 9" H (11.4 cm x 21.6 cm x 22.9 cm)
