Native American, Midwestern United States, Mississippian, Arkansas, Saint Francis River, ca. 1200 to 1400 CE. A delightful grayware jar in the form of a frog. The vessel presents a globular body, a tubular neck, and a flared rim, while the adorable amphibian is shown atop the jar in low relief with legs folded at the sides. His petite snout projects from one side and his tail protrudes from the other, as the neck of the jar rises from the center of his back. Size: 3.8" Diameter x 3.6" H (9.7 cm x 9.1 cm)
