Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 21st to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 664 BCE. An adorable faience cat pendant of a miniature size that is enrobed in lustrous sky-blue glaze. The minute feline sits on its haunches atop an integral rectangular plinth, holds its upper body aloft with its forelegs, and peers forward with petite eyes beneath a perky pair of ears. An integral suspension loop protrudes from atop the back and, along with a modern brass ring, enables its wearability. Size: 0.55" L x 0.3" W x 0.6" H (1.4 cm x 0.8 cm x 1.5 cm)
