Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A marvelous bottle, free-blown from translucent blue-green glass and boasting thick flakes of iridescence in silver and rainbow hues. The gorgeous vessel presents a piriform body with a tubular neck that flares outwards to a rolled rim, all sitting upon a discoid foot. Delicate handles connect the rim to a ring of trailing near the top of the neck. Size: 1.8" Diameter x 4.5" H (4.6 cm x 11.4 cm)

Loss to top of 1 handle. Otherwise, excellent with beautiful iridescence. Pontil mark on underside of base. A pontil scar or mark indicates that a vessel was free-blown, while the absence of such a mark suggests that the work was either mold-blown or that the mark was intentionally smoothed away or wore away over time.
