Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Mixtec, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. A lovely pottery bowl adorned with vibrant stucco pigments. The ancient vessel presents a carinated form with a round yet stable base and thick walls that flare outwards to a wide, circular rim. A rich hue of coral envelops the interior of the dish, while a shade of pale orange covers the exterior. Powder blue-colored bands additionally adorn the vessel with 1 band stretching horizontally along the interior walls and 2 more forming top and bottom borders for the exterior.
