Native American, Southwestern USA, probably Navajo (Dine), ca. early 20th century CE. A dazzling pair of turquoise and high quality (94%) silver necklaces. The first boasts four vivid sky blue stones of turquoise with deep brown striations, all set on a wearable, high quality silver chain with a hook clasp. Three of these beautiful stones are adorned with a lovely silver setting in the shape of a shell and are connected to one another with incised silver chain links. The fourth hangs from the central silver-shell-embellished stone as a pendant and is adorned with a silver setting with an undulating periphery and three hemispherical embellishments at the bottom. The second necklace features 62 seafoam green turquoise nugget beads strung on a silver chain with silver beads of spherical and ellipsoid forms and a barrel clasp. Arranged into three groups of 20 to 22 turquoise beads that graduate toward the center, the elegant chain has three spherical silver beads on either side of the clasp and two groups of three spherical beads with two ellipsoid between the groups of turquoise.
