Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom to Third Intermediate Period, 19th to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1292 to 664 BCE. A mold-formed faience stamp seal of ovoid form with interesting imagery incised on the stamp face. The topside features a petite handle that arches across the top with a large lotus flowers radiating off each terminal. The underside shows an ambiguous, right-facing figure - perhaps a deity or a pharaoh - who wears the Pschent crown of Upper and Lower Egypt while standing in front of a royal uraeus cobra and a sun disk. The entire composition is enveloped in lustrous blue glaze that enhances its attractive presentation. Size: 1.5" L x 0.875" W x 0.5" H (3.8 cm x 2.2 cm x 1.3 cm)
