Central Asia, Tibet, ca. 19th century CE. A large and stunning pendant comprised of high-quality silver and semi-precious stones. The flat back plate is 94% silver and decorated with an engraved motif of a symmetrical flower and vines. An inward curving band of 80% silver holds in place a thick, ring of dark red banded agate. Recessed under the agate is a 52% silver plate surmounted by scrolling silver vine pattern around a generous lapis stone, complete with sparkling golden quartzite inclusions across its face. Inlaid in the center is a round disc of pink glass surrounded by a brass border. Two small silver loops at the top are strung with a modern cord and silver-plated lobster clasp, making this dramatic pendant wearable! Comes with a modern silk and drawstring storage pouch.
