Joshua Elliott (American, b. 1973). "Hush" oil on board, 2014. Signed on the lower right. A stunning painting of a snowy prairie landscape with a winding road that leads to a farmhouse in the distance by Joshua Elliott, one of today's most respected painters of the American West. Elliott aptly titled this piece "Hush" and one can certainly sense the tranquil peace and quiet that follows a winter snowfall. According to the artist, "A good painting, to me, is Nature's truth filtered through the artist." A breathtaking painting set in an attractive custom frame. Size: 23.25" L x 23.25" W (59.1 cm x 59.1 cm) Size: 30.75" L x 30.8" W (78.1 cm x 78.2 cm)
Joshua Elliott is one of the most beloved Western artists of our time. Born in Great Falls, Montana Elliott continues to live in Montana (now Helena) and his work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions throughout the West. In addition, he has received impressive honors such as Artist in Residence at Glacier National Park, and his art has been collected by the Whitney Museum of Western Art in Cody, Wyoming; the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, Georgia; The Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis, Indiana; the Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg, Arizona; the Montana Historical Society in Helena, Montana; and the Oregon Historical Society in Portland, Oregon.
Provenance: private Denver collection, USA, by inheritance before 2000 from the Harry Tammen Family collection, former owner of the Denver Post
