Attributed to John F. Kennedy (American, 1917-1963), Air Force One doodle, graphite drawing, on embossed "ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE" stationary, possibly initialed to lower right of the three boats, ca. 1961 to 1963, undated. A pencil sketch including a set of intersecting arrows, three small sailboats afloat with initials beneath, the framed words "United Nations", and the words "war in 1947 with Arabs" underlined twice. After World War II, Kennedy served as a United Nations Conference reporter for the Chicago Herald-American and covered the Potsdam Conference for the International News Service. His note about war with the Arabs most likely refers to the Israeli-Arab War, which began in late 1947. Sketches and notes by President Kennedy on Air Force One letterhead are scarce. Size: 7.25" L x 4.25" W (18.4 cm x 10.8 cm)
