Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Jamacoaque (Jama Coaque) culture, ca. 500 CE. A hand-built pottery female figure who stands nude save for a beaded necklace and a massive, maroon-painted cap. Covered in powdery orange pigment, the figure presents atop delineated legs, holds her left arm over her womb, and holds her right arm out from her waist. Her protruding visage features almond-shaped eyes, a petite nose, slender lips, and spool-adorned ears. An intriguing example of Jamacoaque artistry! Size: 2.46" W x 5.33" H (6.2 cm x 13.5 cm)
