Ancient Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan/Mohenjo-Daro Civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. A wheel-thrown pottery cup with a squat foot, a broad, circular body with tall walls, and a thin rim surrounding the shallow basin. Displayed around the exterior are colorful petaloid forms set atop bright orange grounds with red and blue stripes streaking diagonally across each leaf, a pair of semicircles flanking the top corners, and vertical red and blue columns separating each panel. Size: 3.4" W x 2.2" H (8.6 cm x 5.6 cm)

Condition
Light touch-up painting to some colorful areas, with minor abrasions and nicks to rim, walls, and foot, and light encrustations, otherwise intact and very good. Nice earthen deposits throughout.
