Southeast Asia, Cambodia or northern Thailand, Khmer Empire (Angkor culture), ca. 14th to 15th century CE. An elegant pottery jar presenting a narrow, flat foot, a bulbous body, a round shoulder, a slender neck, and a flared, rolled rim. Enveloped in a rich mocha brown glaze, the ancient vessel exhibits 4 tubular strap handles that sit on the vessel's shoulder, just below a lovely risen band adorning the neck. The glaze covers all but its base and a small area on the interior, which reveal puce-colored, bare terracotta. Size: 10" in diameter x 12.375" H (25.4 cm x 31.4 cm)
